KOTA TINGGI: A normal Friday evening drive turned into a heart-stopping experience for a man when a tree crashed onto his car on Jalan Kota Tinggi-Ulu Tiram near Pulada, causing an hour-long traffic snarl.
The incident occurred at 7.15pm during a slight drizzle.
Mohd Shafiq Ahmad, 27, recounted to Bernama that the tree fell suddenly, leaving him no time to stop the car.
"I wasn't driving fast because of the rain and there were several vehicles in front of me that managed to escape, but I could only step on the brake when the tree crashed on my car," he said.
"I also had to exit through the passenger door because the driver's door was blocked by the fallen tree.
"Nevertheless, I am thankful that I am safe and unhurt," he said adding that the crash caused damage to the car engine and doors.
The uprooted tree blocked the road, causing an hour-long standstill in traffic. — BERNAMA
