Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin claimed that remarks by PAS about an impending change of government have been misunderstood.
In his closing address at Bersatu's 5th Annual General Assembly, the Perikatan Nasional chief said there would not be any revolution, and that the coalition would uphold democracy.
"When PAS said don't throw stones at your neighbour's house and predicted that if the government continues with its current ways, then they might not last long in power, there are people who misunderstood.
"It’s as if there will be a revolution. No such thing.
“This is a democracy and we defend the democratic system.
"We will never do anything that is against the Federal Constitution," Muhyiddin stressed.
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang had previously said that the coalition government which consists of Pakatan Harapan, BN, GPS, and GRS is on the verge of collapse.
He said no one could stop PN from plotting such a move - and that a change in government could be done via a vote of no-confidence or statutory declarations.
Hadi is being investigated by police over his remarks.
Party hopping by individual MPs is barred by the constitution and would result in MPs losing their seats.
However, parties and coalitions can change their support en bloc.
The coalition government has a memorandum of agreement between the main parties where they pledged to support Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in votes of confidence, among other pledges. - Mkini
