No need to be so dramatic, Bersatu Youth chief tells Guan Eng

There is no need for DAP national chairperson Lim Guan Eng to be so dramatic about Bersatu Youth’s police report against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, said its chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.

“I hope Lim (above, left) will ensure he also obeys the law when accusing other people. Don’t just throw propaganda.

“Lim went to the police station prepared with a ‘Muhyiddin Slanders’ (Muhyiddin Fitnah) banner when lodging his police report (against Muhyiddin). He also spread his police report.

“This is a matter planned for DAP propaganda because Lim was affected by what I said,” Wan Fayhsal (above, right) said in a statement today.

The Machang MP was responding to Lim who earlier today accused the former of committing a criminal offence of lodging a “false police report” against Anwar and himself.

Wan Fayhsal said Bersatu’s police report was clear and easy to understand, claiming that it was unlike the lies from DAP and Anwar.

“There is no need for Lim to threaten me. I am confident in what I said and I will defend my leaders who were betrayed.

“DAP is now in the same bed as Umno so let these strange bedfellows have their political romance.

“Umno and DAP will be punished in the next six state elections. We shall wait and see. In the meantime, don’t play dirty,” he said.

Wan Fayhsal also said that the public can now see the government is using their power to oppress the opposition, with leaders from the ruling parties lodging police reports against them.

Lim had previously lodged a police report against Muhyiddin over alleged slander that the former finance minister had revoked Albukhary Foundation’s tax-exempt status.

Bersatu Youth then filed a counter-report against Lim as well as Anwar for allegedly misleading the Dewan Rakyat.

This prompted Lim to remind Wan Fayhsal that lodging a false report is a criminal offence under Section 182 of the Penal Code.

In his response to Lim, Wan Fayhsal also said that the bigger slander was from Anwar, who initially claimed Muhyiddin embezzled RM600 billion.

“Then (the number) went down to RM530 billion, then changed to RM92.5 billion, and then fell down to RM4.5 billion.

“The latest is that Muhyiddin did not embezzle money but abused his power. The amount is also not what was accused earlier. Is that not malicious slander?” the lawmaker asked. - Mkini
