Perikatan Nasional (PN) will use the PAS logo for candidates contesting in the upcoming state elections in Kelantan and Terengganu.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the decision had been agreed upon by PN leaders.
“Besides that, we will use the PN logo for the four other states,” he said at a press conference.
Tuan Ibrahim made the statement after attending the #Aid4Turkiye&Syria fundraising campaign at a hotel in Ampang earlier this evening.
Also present at the event were PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan.
During the 15th general election, candidates contesting under the PN ticket similarly used the PAS logo in Kelantan and Terengganu.
The coalition won all parliamentary seats in those states.
Tuan Ibrahim said that PN had mobilised joint machinery to face the state elections and appointed Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor as the director of the election for the six respective states.
When asked by reporters, Tuan Ibrahim confirmed that Gerakan would also be given seats to contest in the upcoming state elections, especially in Penang.
Meanwhile, Sanusi said that the claim that former Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin would join PN to contest in the state elections was speculation.
“But if it is true (that Khairy will contest under PN), it is an advantage,” he said.
Sanusi was confident that PN would retain three of the states as well as seize Negeri Sembilan and Selangor, which are Pakatan Harapan strongholds. - Mkini
