Singer Amir Jahari did not allow his song to be used by Bersatu MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin as the background song of a solidarity video for Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin.
Amir said he did not want the song ‘Hasrat’ to be used for a political purpose or agenda.
“I don't allow you to use my song,” he said on Twitter.
For the record, ‘Hasrat’ is entirely Amir's creation and is inspired by the film Imaginur which stars famous actors, Beto Kusyairy and Diana Danielle.
The film had been showing in cinemas in the country since February 23.
Earlier, former prime minister Muhyiddin was brought before the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court and slapped with four charges of abuse of power and two charges of money laundering involving RM232.5 million.
Muhyiddin, however, pleaded not guilty and paid a bail of RM2 million.
Judge Azura Alwi fixed May 26 for the re-mention of the case.
In addition, the Bersatu leader is also expected to face another charge at the Shah Alam Court Complex, next Monday. - Mkini
