Stern action will be taken against those who intentionally name-drop the Prime Minister’s Office’s (PMO) title or position for their personal agenda.
In a statement today, the PMO said it takes the matter seriously and would not hesitate to take further action, including legal measures towards the perpetrators.
“Such actions are very irresponsible and it gives a negative impact on the credibility of the PMO and government,” it said.
The statement by PMO came after MCA president Wee Ka Siong claimed that Deepak Jaikishan had called him yesterday to ask the former to correct his remarks over the importation of eggs from India.
Wee, in the Dewan Rakyat today, claimed that the controversial businessperson had name-dropped the PMO and proceeded to ask him to produce a statement over the matter.
Deepak had since denied contacting Wee, as well as refuted any relations to J&E Advanced Tech Sdn Bhd – the sole company that Putrajaya had allowed to import eggs from India during a local supply shortage. - Mkini
