Selangor Perikatan Nasional chairperson Azmin Ali remained coy over his candidacy in the upcoming state elections.
However, having previously hinted his intentions to sit out of the state polls, Azmin today said he will abide by any instructions from Bersatu.
"Yes, I have announced (previously) that I wish to take a temporary rest.
"But because the current situation demands us (PN) to work together as a party to boost support, as a party man, I will abide by party orders," said the incumbent three-term Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyperson during a press conference after the Selangor PN Convention in Shah Alam today.
Asked if it meant that he would accept any order to contest, Azmin said, "I’m waiting for instructions."
Last week, Sinar Daily quoted PN sources who said Azmin is eyeing to move from Bukit Antarabangsa to Hulu Kelang.
This follows his failure in the 15th general election to defend his Gombak Parliament seat, which he held for three terms, against interim Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
Asked if his "shadow" is already in Hulu Kelang, Azmin once again played coy, stating, "My shadow is all over Selangor."
Overall, he said PN components are finalising their candidates' list, and are expected to feature more new faces including from among youths. - Mkini
