A victory for Perikatan Nasional in the upcoming Selangor state election can be a referendum for the federal government, according to Muhyiddin Yassin.
The PN chairperson said this in his speech at the PN Election Convention held in Shah Alam earlier today.
"That is why it is important for us to ask the voters in Selangor to give us a chance.
"We want to use this (Selangor state election) as a referendum, we want to start with Selangor," he said.
PN kickstarted its campaign to sweep the Pakatan Harapan-controlled state with a tour programme called 'Jelajah Selangor Baru Kita Bangkit' in Shah Alam tonight.
Earlier, various Selangor PN leaders who spoke at the election convention pledged their commitment to mobilise all party machinery ahead of official campaigns.
Meanwhile, Muhyiddin reiterated that PN is in the final stages of screening its election candidates.
"I have received many names. Officially and unofficially [...] But only qualified candidates will be considered," he said.
He added that once an official announcement has been made, all members should accept their candidacies and work towards PN's victory. - Mkini
