MIC deputy president M Saravanan has denied that his party has been allocated any seat to contest in Selangor during the upcoming state election.
He said earlier reports claiming otherwise were inaccurate.
"MIC had asked for the Sentosa state seat, which we had a chance at winning.
"However, after negotiations between Pakatan Harapan and BN, the seat remained with PKR.
"So until now, MIC has not been promised any seats to contest in Selangor," Saravanan (above) told Malaysiakini.
Last night Selangor MIC chief MB Raja told reporters that the party would be contesting in the state election.
This was after a Selangor BN meeting in Shah Alam.
Seat distributions between Pakatan Harapan and BN are still being finalised, but Malaysiakini was made to understand that at least 11 seats have been allocated to the latter. - Mkini
