PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has again dismissed claims that ongoing investigations involving politicians in the opposition are politically motivated.
According to Bernama, Anwar asked those making such claims to furnish evidence that proved probes by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) or other enforcement agencies were based on “political instructions”.
On Saturday, Perikatan Nasional (PN) president Muhyiddin Yassin claimed the alleged raid by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) on opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin’s home was politically motivated.
Hamzah and other PN leaders had also accused the government of using MACC as a political tool in recent months, after Muhyiddin and other Bersatu leaders were slapped with graft charges.
