DAP’s incumbent Bukit Gasing assemblyperson Rajiv Rishyakaran has extended an offer to those in Muda leaning towards sticking with Pakatan Harapan to join forces with DAP in the state elections.
This comes after Muda announced that it will be contesting on its own in all six states in the coming polls.
“I’m aware the leadership of Muda has been divided on (whether) to stick with Harapan or to contest solo. I know it was not an easy decision.
“I would like to officially welcome the leadership and members of Muda who advocated for sticking with Harapan to join DAP in facing the six state elections,” Rajiv said in a tweet today.
Earlier today, Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said the party will go solo in the six state elections as they will no longer be cowed by fear-mongering that doing this will only result in “splitting votes”.
Last October, Muda joined an electoral pact with Harapan for the 15th general election.
Before that, the party also collaborated with DAP and Amanah for the 2022 Johor state election. - Mkini
