KUALA LUMPUR: Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi wants representatives from the party to be part of the three Pakatan Harapan-led states.
“Dear prime minister, don’t forget, we want Umno representatives in these three states.
“Currently, we don’t have any,” he said in his keynote address at the Umno general assembly here this morning.
Zahid is also the deputy prime minister.
Zahid went on to say that the impending state elections will be a platform to foster a better understanding between Umno and PH, which have been allies for the past seven months.
The polls in six states sees Umno face two different situations, he said.
Zahid said three are governed by their allies, PH, while the remaining three, Terengganu, Kelantan and Kedah are administered by their rivals, PAS.
“And we will stand with our allies to defend Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.” - FMT
