IT IS always a sad story when rich powerful people decide to fight and the poor suffer.
Such is the tragedy in the middle east where the blockade at the Straits Of Hormuz has contributed to the rise of prices everywhere across the world.
Malaysia is no exception to the
While many measures have already been employed to aid the people, one of the most interesting ones yet is our first ever MADANI Mart, having opened in Pahang.
More accurately, the store is at B-102 & B-104 (Ground Floor), Lorong IM 8/33, Perumahan Indera Mahkota 8, 25200 Kuantan, Pahang. But what is all the brouhaha about this MADANI Mart?
Since it is government initiated, the people can expect better prices there compared to the many other marts out there in Malaysia.
A quick stop at MADANI Mart Facebook page revealed the price list of the items, ranging from sugar, cooking oil, meat, rice and more.

But more importantly, what do the netizens think about it? For starters, Mka Raz thinks this is Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia version No.2.
He even thanked incarcerated Najib Razak for the many ideas he gave to the current government. Many others are of the same opinion.

On the other hand, Ben Hisham prefers to view this new initiative in a racial lens.

But netizen Bahaderul Hisham Adam pointed out that Kedai Rakyat 1 Malaysia was directly under the government while Madani Mart was a public, private, social partnership, which makes it sustainable.

Away from all the negativity, help is still help, so who are we to criticise it?
According to Suara Keadilan Prime Minister’s Political Secretary, Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, said MADANI Mart is a strategic initiative to help the public obtain essential goods at lower prices.
“MADANI Mart is an initiative focused on developing a network of community-based retail outlets, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. It aims to provide quality essential goods at fairer and more affordable prices, with the primary focus on supporting the well-being of the people,” he said. — Focus Malaysia
