Councillors in Sungei Petani want council president removed

ALOR SETAR: Members of the Sungai Petani Municipal Council have submitted a memorandum to Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak to remove the council president.

In the two-page memorandum, the councillors claimed that councilpresident Rozaina Radzi had failed to perform her duties, saying that she made various decisions without discussing with them.

All the 17 councillors said that they were disappointed with the council's action in destroying stalls at Jalan Cinta Sayang on May 26 without referring to them.

In the memorandum, the councillors said they would not attend any council meeting from May 29 until the appointment of a new president. - Star
