Yelping throughout the ordeal, the animal is shown being overpowered aggressively by workers from Batu Pahat Municipal Council.
PETALING JAYA: A video showing municipal workers aggressively overpowering a dog is drawing cries of horror from Internet users.
It runs for 4 minutes and 45 seconds on YouTube and is also making the rounds on Facebook.
Five local council officers are seen using snares to catch the dog, believed to be a stray, in a residential area in Batu Pahat.
The dog yelps incessantly and tries hard to escape, but the officers manage to pin it down and administer an injection that renders it motionless.
It remains stiff even as an officer drags it around.
The driver of the city council truck spots the anonymous individual recording the incident and goads him to get closer for a better shot.
Believing the dog to have been killed, a commentator named Samanathagho 86 said: “I can’t believe this is their method to catch the stray dogs. Pity the doggy. Although they already banned the shooting to kill the stray dog, but this method still killing the dogs in public! Really heartless.”
Another commentator, DkevoTV, said: “They have life too, you know!! Treating it as if the dog had threatened humans!! What has the dog done to you guys until he deserve to die like this?!! Such sick humans!!
