Najib says not losing sleep over Anwar's alleged 'pandi-kutty' comment

It is not clear yet if Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim really did call Prime Minister Najib Razak pandi-kutty, which is Tamil for piglet, and even though baby pigs are haram or prohibited fare for Muslims, as far as smearing and slander goes Najib still has the lead over his arch rival by far.

Among labels that Najib has flung at Anwar include sodomist and given the latest sex video conspiracy aimed specifically to shame Anwar and his family and cut their standing in eyes of the Malaysian people, to call Najib pandi-kutty seems pretty mild.

"Najib is just trying to get public sympathy for himself and his wife Rosmah Mansor. Whether Malaysians feel they deserve the public's sympathy is for them to decide. But when it comes to wrongdoing and owing the nation peace of mind, Najib and the Umno elite cannot escape. No amount of paint can whitewash them," PKR vice president Tian Chua told Malaysia Chronicle.

"If Najib has difficulty sleeping, we are sure Teoh Beng Hock's wife and Altantuya's sons too have had sleepless nights. So too, I am sure, have the children of the Opposition Leader after reading the sort of gutter politics coming out from the Umno-owned Utusan. Not to mention Christians around the country after the Utusan 'special' reporting' on a Christian PM."

Not losing any sleep over comment

National news agency Bernama had reported that Anwar made the 'pandi-kutty' comment against Najib at a meeting with the Indian community in Klang during the weekend.

When asked for his reaction on Tuesday, Najib Razak chided Anwar for the unbecoming remark.

"This has not caused me to lose sleep because I am sure that people can judge for themselves the action of a leader like him," Bernama reported Najib as saying.

"To attack someone personally is to be trapped in a cauldron of politics that has no ethics. I am sure the people can assess for themselves politicians who do this."

Meanwhile, Anwar's driver Abdullah Sani Said is due to lodge a police report this afternoon against suspected sabotage on his boss's car.

"We view this seriously as the car is usually used by Anwar and his family. All of a sudden, there multiple breakdowns and there was a funny accident. The police must investigate thoroughly. Whether they will do anything we cannot control, but on our part, we want to make it very clear. We are taking this very seriously," said Tian.
