A total of 3,734 hardcore poor household heads have been registered under the e-Kasih programme in Sabah as at April 24 against 1,396 people as at Dec 31 last year, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said Tuesday.
He said the increase was due to several reasons in up-dating of the e-Kasih data and in the state and federal governments' programmes, particularly for last year's temporary 1Azam allowance.
Musa however said the total number of poor families had been on a decrease from 28,916 families to 27,933 within the same period.
Musa who chaired the state meeting for the peoples' prosperity development and poverty eradication, here, issued the statement through Sabah's Rural Development Minister Datuk Dr Ewon Ebin.
The chief minister said as at April 28, a total of RM14.3 million had been disbursed under the 1Azam allowance.
There were still 934 recipients who had been registered but had not made their claims involving a total of RM196,674.
