KUALA LUMPUR - There are over 12mil registered voters nationwide, the Election Commission (EC) said in a statement Monday.
The number includes the Master Electoral Roll 2010 and Additional Second Quarter 2011 Electoral Roll which will be gazetted tomorrow.
The Additional Second Quarter Electoral Roll 2011 contains 257,557 names comprising 201,339 new voters and 56,218 voters who changed the polling station address.
During the exhibition of DPT ST2/2011 Bill from July 27 to Aug 2, 2011, EC received 524 objections involving P.27 (Tanah Merah parliamentary constituency in Kelantan) where all remained unresolved.
The statement said EC received objections in 45 parliamentary constituencies and all the objections remained unresolved.
"The objections involved 110,242 applications comprising 89,193 new registrations and 21,049 change of address applications.
"All the applications will be approved after all the objections are resolved," the statement said.
