PAS information chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has raised red flags over how much of the evidence on the Selangor Islamic Religious Department's (Jais) raid on a dinner has ended up on pro-Umno blogs.
Defending his party secretary-general Mustafa Ali's claim that Umno was behind the raid on the event at a hall of the Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC), Tuan Ibrahim (left)reiterated there were indications of "hidden hands" at work.
"All evidence of possible Christianisation, which is supposed to be confidential and not be released until it is brought to court, has been exposed by pro-Umno blogs, but not by Jais.
"The (evidence) includes interviews, names of attendees and amount of money collected, with the latest being a video clip of the raid and Jais' report on the matter, which are supposed to be presented to the Selangor Sultan first.
"Why has evidence from Jais been leaked and published by pro-Umno blogs?" Tuan Ibrahim asked in a press statement today.
He pointed out that despite this being an issue of proselytising, it has turned into a campaign targeting the Selangor state government.
"The demonstration by (Senator) Ezam Mohd Nor at the (Selangor) state mosque threatened the Selangor government, including sending toilet brushes and toilet bowls to the menteri besar's office," he said.
Yesterday, Selangor Umno secretary Mohd Zin Mohamedthreatened to take legal action against Mustafa unless he apologised for alleging that Umno was behind the raid.
In an immediate reaction, Mustafa defended his statement, reiterating that the Jais' raid was an "Umno trap".
