Tawau MP Chua Soon Bui has urged Facebook followers not to 'insult' her intelligence by alleging that she will jump ship.
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Peoples Progressive (SAPP) party vice president Chua Soon Bui has rubbished claims that she is ditching the party to join Barisan Nasional (BN) through MCA.
Commenting on the rumour which is rife on social network, Facebook, Chua described the allegation as a personal attack, an insult to her intelligence and a tactic to destroy Tawau SAPP.
“I hereby categorically deny all allegations. They are an insult on my intelligence.
“I have been in politics for the past 16 years so isn’t it stupid now, in this current political situation, that I would board another vessel which is deemed sinking, through the action of its own sailors, not just by the people?” she said.
The Tawau MP said she has been with SAPP “through rain and shine and during the most difficult times for the party”.
Dismissing the allegations, she stressed that Tawau SAPP was still very active in reaching out to the people.
“The challenges came when and Sepanggar MP cum SAPP deputy president Eric Majimbun and I had to submit the vote of no confidence (against then premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi) in Parliament in 2008.
“It is also because we chose to stand by the aspiration of the people, the difficulties and problems face by the people in Sabah that we chose to leave BN in 2008.
“I would like advise those responsible for spreading the rumours that politics is no more like instant noodles…
“Malaysians are very matured in politics now and the people will know who to choose.
“Being from SAPP we also have our party culture and our mission which are very strong.
“I stand by the party with all our leaders as we see that we are going to change the political scenario in Sabah and the country,” she said.
