Former Selangor Mentri Besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo has denied he purchased a house in Section 7, Shah Alam, at below market price.
Khir told the Shah Alam High Court that the house was valued at RM3.5 million.
The former mentri besar is charged under Section 165 of the Penal Code for alleged graft involving the purchase of two plots of land and a house in 2007 from company director Shamsuddin Hayroni (left).
The property was said to have been sold lower than the market value, allegedly in exchange for considerations for Shamsuddin's companies in contracts with the state government and state GLCs.
He was ordered to enter his defence on August 8 after the judge ruled the prosecution had a prima facie case against him.
