Were Seremban cops on duty at Mat Sabu's ceramah?

your say'The head of police that night should be reprimanded for his failure to do his duty that night. Or was that the intention all along?'

Several injured in fracas at Mat Sabu ceramah

Ferd Tan: What is the intention of Perkasa in gate-crashing the PAS ceramah, other than to provoke trouble and violence?

When peaceful candlelight vigils, election reforms marches and other smaller gatherings which may put the ruling government in bad light, the police would invariably come down in great numbers to harass, stop and even arrest the demonstrators.

We understand there are many Special Branch officers presence in every ceramah, especially the one held by the opposition; watching and recording the speeches made.

Since Mat Sabu is now in the nation limelight, you can be sure that there are police in greater number in the ceramah on Saturday night in Seremban. So why no action was taken to stop the illegal Perkasa's demonstration before they get out of hand?

The controlling head of police on duty that night should be reprimanded for his failure to do his duty. Or can we be cynical enough to believe that was the intention all along?

Lexicon: Perkasa has the right to gather and protest, make their views heard, behave like human beings, then leave quietly.

This kind of behaviour creates sympathy for PAS and invites scorn against Umno and its sub-contractors, Perkasa and the police.

Chandran Siva: Innocent people were tear-gassed, batton-charged and jetted with chemical-laced water when they were marching orderly and peacefully during Bersih 2.0. Why the double standards, PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police)?

Armageddon: There is no need for Perkasa to submit a memorandum to Mat Sabu because he was already summoned to court.

Unfortunately, the police is always slow when it comes to stopping these gangsters from interfering with PAS legal ceramah.

Soon, the police will tell Mat Sabu that he can't give any more public ceramah because his safety is at stake. This is so childishly predictable.

Jedi_Who: Umno inspired this mob violence. What law will protect the people from them?

Anonymous: Perkasa has proved to be troublemakers time and again. They are like 'samseng' (gangsters). They had no business disrupting the PAS ceramah and indulge in provocative action. The police should have taken action against them.

They are also provoking the army and soldiers who actually do not understand Mat Sabu's statement on Bukit Kepong. They're hell-bent in creating trouble in this country.

20121221Disaster: No wonder the Umno leadership was worried that the Bersih 2.0 rally would turned ugly - because Umno leaders think Bersih marchers were like their supporters who behave like terrorists and samsengs.

They used their supporters to gauge the Bersih rally marchers. What a bunch of clowns.

Sarajun Hoda: The smoke signalling has begun. If BN does not get its way, things could really flare up. Maybe Emergency will be declared and Parliament suspended. Then BN will get all the years it needs to do damage control.

So, folks, God forbid any violence erupts in our still peaceful country, but the worse may happen, so be mentally prepared. Najib Razak, is after all a politician and a desperate one. He will do anything to stay in power.

Brahman: I wonder how much the 100-odd Perkasa men were paid, and how many were army personnel who acted on their own principles.

PKR veep likens Mat Sabu to Nobel laureate

Pemerhati: Umno, in the case of the Bukit Kepong film, did not realise that they were glorifying the British colonialists. They would not have made the film if the people who were killed were British police officers.

Assuming for a moment that all the people killed in the Bukit Kepong episode were British police officers and not British-employed Malay police officers, and knowing the racist mindset of these Umno people, it is almost certain that Umno would be hailing Mat Indera as a hero and a freedom fighter.

Umno is angry at Mat Sabu for exposing their stupidity.

Nicholas Lim: Is this the kind of drivel that we can expect fromMalaysiakini - Mat Sabu being compared to a Nobel laureate? What a big joke.

There is a difference between what Mat Sabu and Orhan Pamuk said. Orhan Pamuk wrote about the Turk's genocide against the Armenians, he was condemning the Turks for denying the killings.

Mat Sabu, on the other hand, is glorifying the killers, i.e. the communist terrorists. Big difference. Now I know the PKR veep is also a frothing idiot.

Voice: PAS veep N Surendran never said Mat Sabu is equal to Orhan Pamuk. What Surendran did was to liken Mat Sabu to Orhan due to what Sabu has done and impressed us are along the path as what Orhan has done.

Mat Sabu may not equal Orhan now, but who knows, Mat Sabu may exceed him one day.

Do not forget that Mat Sabu and the rest are struggling in a very difficult environment whereby almost every institution in this country, such as police, MACC, EC, AG, army, law, etc, are monopolised by the iron-fist ruling government.

Paul Warren: I have never been impressed by Mat Sabu. But he has certainly got me to troll the net to look for reading material. And today I find myself questioning a lot of the history that Umno would have us live by. Mostly a lie!

Umno certainly comes off looking manipulated into leading the 'independence' so that monetarily the British were no worse off handing Malaya over to the locals.

Abasir: If there is one thing Mat Sabu has done so brilliantly (in which no academic or historian has done to date) is to get ordinary Malaysians take another look at our handed-down history; to ask those vital questions and seek to distinguish between the collaborators and freedom fighters.

Of course, some of his success in raising awareness must be attributed to the equally 'brilliant' tacticians in Umno who (as usual) inadvertently fuelled the fire with their knee-jerk reactions.

Whatever the case, Mat Sabu has succeeded in debunking some of the 'truths' we were taught in school and to recognise, for the first time, the real villains.

Truth, like a cork in water, has a way of resurfacing. - Malaysiakini
