Even PM Has No Power Over DBKL

Tuesday October 25, 2011
.
Rules set to change for festive bazaar traders
.
THE procedure for issuing Deepavali Bazaar licences may be reviewed next year following the high number of complaints received by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) regarding the issue this year.
.
(MY comment : This is a lie. The rules wont change next year, the year after that or the year after that. The DBKL will keep breaking their own rules, they will not enforce their own rules, they will bend their own rules, they will close both eyes. They will screw up again and again)
.
Deputy Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk M. Saravanan said - “we also received many complaints from various parties and through media reports, all of which point back to DBKL”
.
(My comment : "all of which point back to DBKL" ?? Saravanan has at last pointed the finger at DBKL So what? Who cares? Siapa peduli? Who is Saravanan? The DBKL is bigger than Saravanan. The Minister of the Federal Territory cannot do anything about DBKL. Even the Prime Minister cannot do anything about DBKL.
.
Saravanan said the trading lots were given to the NGOs as they represented Indian traders. However, the NGOs gave the lots to their members who, in turn, sold them off at higher prices. To make matters worse, some NGO members sold off their trading lots to foreigners who could be seen running the stalls on a day-to-day basis.
.
During a surprise visit recently, Saravanan found three lots run by foreigners. However within minutes of his arrival, the licence holder arrived stating that the foreigners were their workers.
.
According to him, DBKL only charges RM120 for the licences which were given out to various NGOs upon a written request.
.
He said one individual had already filed a police report stating he had purchased his trading lot for RM2,900 following a fight with another fellow trader.
.
“Too many NGOs have cropped up recently. When we do not give them the licences, they say we are mean and unfair but there are many other problems that crop up from this,” he added.
.
All this is plain b.s. Here is how it works folks. These are corrupted people at work here. They are taking advantage of everyone. Here is the reason why all this corruption happens.
.
Clever beggars inside the DBKL know that petty traders will jump at the opportunity to set up their stalls for a month at the entrance to the busiest shopping complex, the entrance of the busiest supermarket, along the busiest shopping street or even right across the road.
.
So the DBKL issues these bazaar licenses. Why does the DBKL do this? To help the poor? If you believe this, please take your medication early tonite ok. For the king and country? Can you hear that? Someone just vented from laughing. No folks. The DBKL does all this in the name of the first Yang Di Pertuan Agong, as it is written on this piece of paper :
.

Well actually it is more for the paper that it is written on. So they issue these licenses. But do they issue the licenses directly to the poor petty traders? Nope. The license is first issued to the"NGOs"? Huh? NGO pun nak niaga warong ke? NGO nak jual muruku, halwa and laddu? NGO style apa pula ini?
.
Saravanan says : Too many NGOs have cropped up recently.
.
An authentic NGO does not ask for hawker licenses - unless they want to trade as hawkers for a month. Then just call them hawkers or traders. But the NGOs do not sell muruku or halwa. They sell their licenses to the real traders (or the foreign traders).
.
DBKL issues the licenses for RM120. These licenses are then sold to the poor hawkers for RM2900. That is a clean profit of RM2780 per license. Now the poor hawker has to slog like a dog, he will have to sweat blood and tears for a month just to cover this RM2900 investment. This is called screwing the poor.
.
If there are 100 licenses issued, the profit is RM278,000 - buta money, made up front without even having to sell a single piece of muruku. If there are 500 licenses issued - that is over a million Ringgit buta money.
.
Often there are no licenses issued at all. The hawkers are just allowed to open their stalls but they will not be harrased. They have already paid for their "place in the sun'.
.
There has to be some organisation needed to do all this issuing of licenses for RM120, sell them for RM2900 per license, and share the loot with "all of which point back to" you know who?
.
This has been going on for years. Even the Prime Minister of Malaysia has no power to stop this.
.
I think the time has come to just stop these bazaars. They are so Third World anyway. They leave garbage on the streets, they sleep in the streets, they reall mess up the place.
.

By the way here is a picture of an old NGO president. His NGO was involved in promoting love for exotic animals (fried, steamed, soup, bbq, curried etc).
