MCA Youth chief Wee Ka Siong continues to hammer away over a blog which featured lurid photos despite PKR leaders denying that the party had anything to do with it.
KUALA LUMPUR: The fray between PKR and MCA over the “glam girls” issue continued today with MCA Youth chief Wee Ka Siong demanding for an apology.
The issue cropped up over the presence of several girls at the MCA Youth annual general meeting on Oct 2. A debate raged on as to whether they were genuine party members or mere “eye candy”.
Wee however claimed that the girls were observers, and took a swipe at PKR Youth for sensationalising the issue.
He claimed that PKR Youth was behind a blog named suarakeadilan.wordpress, which posted lurid pictures.
Wee also singled out PKR Youth information chief Lee Khai Loon for his derogatory statement on Twtter that MCA was “using (these) girls”.
At today’s press conference, Wee demanded an apology from Lee and PKR and for the photographs to be removed.
On Tuesday, PKR vice-president Tian Chua denied the party’s involvement in the matter, saying that PKR was not responsible for blogs which carried its name.
He also stressed that PKR did not indulge in gutter politics.
‘How can you say that?’
Continuing his attack on Lee, the MCA Youth chief said: “How can you make such a statement that we are using the girls as though they are products. These are people’s daugthers we are talking about.”
“They must apologise and retract the pornographic pictures on the blog,” he added.
Wee said that MCA Youth’s lawyers had lodged a report with the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) over the blog site.
Yesterday, PKR Youth had denied any involvement in the matter and asked Wee to apologise instead.
