PETALING JAYA: Perak Pakatan Rakyat leaders have lodged a police report against Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan for allegedly screening a sex video clip in public.

The Pakatan leaders, led by Perak PKR information chief Zulkifli Ibrahim, made the police report on Monday at the Kuala Kangsar police station.

Speaking to FMT, Zulkifli claimed Ahmad, who is also deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, screened the sex video implicating Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim at an event dubbed Majlis Penerangan Perdana on Saturday.

The event was organised by the BN-led state government, attended by some 2,000 people from government, NGOs and the public.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, state secretary Abdul Rahman Hashim and some state exco members, Zulkifli alleged.

“Any sex video screened in public is a violation of the law and can be investigated under section 292 of the Penal Code which carries imprisonment of up to three years or fine or both,” he added.

Zulkifli said several people who attended the event informed him that Ahmd even went to the extent of telling the audiance that the man in the video was indeed Anwar.

“Maslan also repeatedly played the clip until several women left the hall because they were ashamed to view the video,” Zulkifli claimed.

On March 21 this year, former Malacca chief minister Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik, businessman Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and former Perkasa treasurer Shuaib Lazim made a video public claiming that the man in the video was Anwar.

They exhibited the 20-minute video clip allegedly showing Anwar having sex with an unknown woman at a hotel and demanded Anwar and his wife, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, the president of PKR, to step down from their posts.

They were on June 24 convicted of screening the sex video in public and were fined for the offence.

“We hope that the police can conduct a fair and transparent investigation against the BN leader,” said Zulkifli

Anwar has on numerous occasions denied that he was the man in the said video clip.
