KOTA KINABALU, Oct 12—A police investigator has been arrested for the murder of a woman here, after previously claiming to have fought off an unidentified assailant he said had killed her, according to The Star today.
The 29-year-old from the state CID, who suffered a fractured leg and stabbings purportedly from the September 29 attack, was taken into custody yesterday.
The policeman upheld his account that he was responding to a call for help when he discovered 29-year-old widow Kartini Borhan under attack from the armed assailant.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Khalid Abu Bakar today said police were still investigating the possibility that a third party may be involved in the slaying of Kartini.
