JOHOR BARU - A PKR delegate has suggested that Selangor leaders including the Mentri Besar, assemblymen and politicians have weekly town hall meetings to learn about problems faced by the rakyat.
Rawang assemblyman Gan Pei Nee said the dialogue sessions would allow the party's leadership to get closer to the people as well as to gauge feedback.
"These sessions should not be limited to politicians but also to village heads and community leaders throughout the 56 constituencies statewide," she told delegates at the PKR National Congress here Sundday.
Gan hoped the dialogue sessions would start in January next year.
She also said that there should be wifi and broadband services available statewide for people in Selangor to have access to alternative media.
"Youths should be provided with computers so they can be tech-savvy and help in the nation's development," she said.
Another speaker at the congress, Awang Ibrahim from the Malaysian Trade Union Congress (MTUC), highlighted issues affecting the workers in the counrty.
Among his highlighted was the amendment of the Emplyment Act, expected to be passed by the Dewan Negara next month.
He said the union would continue to organise pickets to oppose the amendment.
