The accounts of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) and state Zakat Board are audited by the National Audit Department, said Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
He said the accounts of the two entities received the Clean Certificate from the Auditor-General.
The accounts will continue to be audited by the department for many more years to come, he said in his speech when officiating Wisma Audit Negri Selangor on Thursday.
The Sultan was responding to an allegation by International Islamic University law professor Adul Aziz Bari that the accounts were not audited.
"I hope Prof Abdul Aziz will get his facts right before making statements that will confuse the people regarding the integrity of MAIS and the Zakat Board," the Sultan said. - Star
