'Tajudin-GLCs settlement a cover-up of corruption'

Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim fears that the recent settlement between business tycoon Tajudin Ramli and the GLCs is a “cover-up” to hide corruption involving ministers.

“My concern is that they are afraid that with Tajudin proceeding with the case, he will expose corruption, and the deals which may involve the prime minister and finance minister at the time,” Anwar (right) told reporters in Subang Jaya today.

He was commenting on an out-of-court settlement between the tycoon and the government investment arm, Danaharta.

Commenting further, Anwar said the case involves the loss of billions in public funds and should not be a matter for private settlement.
