BIG HOLES IN INANAM BARU

THE BIG holes in Inanam Baru are really getting to make the people very angry. Despite of the numerous complaints they made to DBKK, there is still no action to rectify all the holes on the roads, walkways and pavements.

The situation had become worst when walkway cover slabs are missing leaving big holes endangering the pedestrians and creating problems for the shop owners in loading and unloading their goods. The drain cover on the road is missing, and causing the cars to ramp into it. This had become a common sight in Inanam Baru now. There are some other big pot holes on the road near the industrial area at the back which need attention too.

Stephen Yaman, the assistant to Sabah DAP Vice Chairman Edward Ewol Mujie, went to inspect the various problems here said the situation is indeed required immediate action by DBKK, and he said the problems are no big deal, and these can be rectified with little work only.

Some of the walkway slabs can be replaced within an hour and the potholes can be patched up quickly. The drain covers should be replaced with some stronger reinforced concrete slabs and to avoid using metal gratings. There are cases that the metal gratings are being stolen constantly by the metal thefts.

Stephen also asks the DBKK to come to clear all the blocked drains and pump up all the slugs and mud accumulated in the drains in front of the shops. There will surely some serious flooding in Inanam Baru if this is not carried out. Since now is the rainy season coming, so it is better to speed up the cleaning process. - Sabahkini
