BN lobs salvo at PKR amidst Shahrizat resignation
While admitting that minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil's decision to resign was a "sacrifice" for the party, an BN leader has taken a swipe at a Pakatan Rakyat leader for continuing to hold on to her party post despite despite her spouse’s conviction.
"PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Ismail continued to be PKR president when her husband Anwar Ibrahim was pronounced guilty. Why didn't she resign?" asked Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Ahmad Maslan today.

Wan Azizah, wife of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, co-founded and headed PKR after her husband was dismissed as the deputy prime minister in 1998 and sentenced to six years jai; in 1999 for corruption.
Anwar was also to serve a consecutive nine years in prison for sodomy, but the charge was later overturned by the Federal Court.
