Najib's daughter's party: Time to audit PM's Office

VOXPOP 'In Islam, we have a concept called ‘amanah'. Sadly, our PM is unaware or chooses to ignore this concept.'

Bare denials not good enough, Rafizi tells PM

vox populi small thumbnailChangeagent: How is PKR strategic director Rafizi Ramli raising this issue of ‘PM's office paid for Najib daughter's engagement party' considered gutter politics, as some pro-Umno critics charge?

Taxpayers have every right to know why the expense was dealt with by the PM's Office. It is all about being accountable and transparent in the disbursements of public funds, a concept that all the hardcore pro-Umno supporters reject and refuse to understand.

Don't always say that an alternative government has nothing to offer.

At the very least, Pakatan Rakyat leaders are more careful and respectful in the way they account for public expenditures compared to the PM's blasé and lackadaisical attitude in spending on frivolous matters like overseas trips for his family, hotel suites and engagement party for his daughter.

Swkdayaks: It's simple, just get the Inland Revenue Department to produce PM Najib Razak's tax returns for that year.

Ask the bank that Najib used to pay the bill to produce the cheque he used and also his account statement that should disclose the payment had been made from his said bank.

The auditor-general should also audit the PM's Office's accounts for that year to see whether the payment for the bill was or was not from their account.

The onus is now on Najib to prove his innocence by producing all the necessary documentary proof that he paid the bill personally as claimed by his office.

Tanto: Although it's an open secret that the BN elites have been stealing and squandering the rakyat's wealth, yet it never fails to make us boil with anger whenever we see another proof of their evil doings.

Time and again, their actions demonstrate arrogance and impunity, much like the mafia who thinks they are untouchable.

The PM will most likely stay mum on the matter or issue some idiotic response as usual, but the rakyat know.

Those who continue to support BN have got to really think carefully as no matter how much gain you can get out of the BN, it will eat you up one day as their appetite is just too big.

Moontime: It seems to me that the PM's Office is treating us Malaysians like buffoons. Where else in this world (apart from Third World countries) do we see the leader treating public money as his/her own?

In Islam, we have a concept called ‘amanah'. Sadly, our PM is unaware or choses to ignore this concept.

Don't worry dear PM, we can wait. The moment another government takes office, all your skeletons, cans of worms, and smelly laundry will be laid out for all to see. There is such a thing as karma, you know.

Anonymous_40f4: In Malaysia the Bolehland, the PM since the days of Dr Mahathir Mohamad have considered themselves God and he is untouchable and is above the law. He controls all agencies in the country and no action can be taken against him.

Malaysia is not America or Europe where no one, including the PM or president, is above the law.

Even in much-maligned Israel, the president can be jailed. But here, they can even get away with murder. - Malaysiakini
