On the occasion of DAP’s 46th anniversary since it was first registered on 18 March 1966, DAP urges all leaders and members to redouble efforts to ensure that PR wins the next general elections so that DAP can remain a party in power in state governments and hopefully in the Federal government too. The danger signals are evident that the 13th General Elections will be the dirtiest in Malaysian history.
BN leaders’ nation-wide road show to drum up electoral support, is a classic replay of its past tactics of using money politics to buy votes, control of the mass media to demonise the opposition and glorify the BN as well as misuse of government machinery for BN’s electoral purposes. However the intensity of such tactics has not only reached unprecedented heights, for the first time in history BN and their supporters are openly and publicly menacing PR leaders.
PR leaders from Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, PAS Deputy President Mat Sabu and myself have not been spared threats of personal harm and violence when we attend public events. Even PKR Vice-President Nurul Izzah Anwar was threatened harm by a BN man in Pahang. It is not Malay culture but also not Malaysian culture for a man to threaten a woman with physical bodily harm.
Worse is such menacing tactics are even expanded to defamatory lies against young school-going children. My 15 year old son was accused with lies that he sexually molested his female classmate and I had paid RM200,000 to cover up the act. Even though the so-called lady victim had publicly stated that this is false as she had never met my son or me, no action has been taken by the police against UMNO Online and UMNO bloggers who publicized these lies.
4Ms
DAP’s very political survival at stake in the next general elections if our members and supporters do not successfully repulse BN’s shameless tactics of 4M of Money, Media, Machinery of Government, Menacing PR leaders and 4R of Race, Religion, Royalty & Rigging The Election Commission.
Even though PR, PAS, PKR and DAP has repeatedly stressed our full support for the Federal Constitution, BN has continued its shameless tactics of using race, religion and royalty to draw back lost support from the Malays. Worse is what PR sees as the blatant attempt by BN to rig the elections not just with phantom voters, registering of foreigners as voters by giving them ICs, refusal to establish a Royal Commission of Inquiry into illegal immigrants in Sabah and lately the clandestine shifting of voters to another voting district without their knowledge that happened even to Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.
For this reason DAP leaders and members must remain vigilant against such BN’s shameless 4M and 4R tactics in order to project DAP’s multi-racial approach of uniting and prospering all Malaysians based on core principles of justice, freedom, truth, democracy and integrity.
