Kuala Lumpur mayor Ahmad Fuad Ismail has come under fire as a group of Selangor councillors today questioned his inaction against burger sellers and the planned two-day market outside Ambiga Sreenevasan’s house.
At a press conference today, 10 DAP councillors asked why the mayor is closing one eye to the clear violation of Section 39 of the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974 by the protesters.
“The section states that anyone who damages public property shall be penalised by a maximum fine of RM1,000, and this applies to the traders who marked lots on a road," noted Subang Jaya councillor Ng Sze Han.

“(Ahmad Fuad, left) should immediately take action against the traders. He is the mayor. Does he need us to teach him what to do?”
