SEPANG, May 25 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak arrived home today after working visits to the United Kingdom and United States.
The plane carrying Najib and wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, touched down at the KL International Airport here at 7.45pm tonight.
Najib had left for a two-day working visit to London, at the invitation of The Prince of Wales, His Royal Highness Prince Charles, to attend a reception on the conferment of the Royal Charter on the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, on May 13.
While there, the prime minister launched the “Friends of the Barisan Nasional UK” (FBNUK) and later, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd and its two strategic partners.
The first agreement was on Strategic Joint Venture with Louis Dreyfus Commodities Asia Pte Ltd (LDCA) while the second was a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Vitol S.A. to collaborate on supply, international trading, marketing, logistics operations and risk management on various commodities, excluding oils and fats.
In London, Najib also met up with members of the Malaysian community in the United Kingdom at “An Evening with the Prime Minister” held at a concert hall, the 02 Arena, in Greenwich, East London.
On May 16, Najib left London for a four-day working visit to New York where he had a busy programme, including chairing the second Meeting of the Global Science and Innovation Advisory Council (GSIAC) at the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS).

Najib also attended a business roundtable meeting with leaders of Fortune 500 Companies at the Harvard Club of New York and met prominent American businessmen including Ocean Thermal Energy Corporation chairman and CEO, Jeremy P. Feakins, Motorola Solutions executive vice-president, Gene Delaney besides former US Senator Christopher Samuel “Kit” Bond.
In a separate programme, Rosmah received a courtesy call from the CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA, Anna Maria Chavez, and visited the New York Presbyterian Children’s Hospital.
After New York, Najib and Rosmah departed for Washington D.C for a private visit to attend the graduation of their son, Nor Ashman, who received his Bachelor of Science in International Affairs with Magna cum Laude honours and a CGPA average of 3.71 at Georgetown University.
While there, the prime minister had a luncheon and a Friday prayer session with Malaysian students and embassy staff. — Bernama
