KUALA LUMPUR - Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad tonight said that entrepreneurs must be honest, disciplined and able to pay back loans promptly besides having a well-planned management in business to succeed in franchising.
He said it was not impossible to achieve success as long as those involved knew how to manage their business.
"Entrepreneurs now have no difficulty in starting a business as local banks now offer loans compared to the old days where a person had to save money even to sell fried bananas.
"This is based on my personal experience in selling 'goreng pisang' when I was young," he said when closing Franchise International Malaysia 2012 at the Putra World Trade Centre here Saturday.
