Guan Eng: Najib's 3Ks pledge more like 5Ds
Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s pledge to deliver the “3Ks” to the people should really be the “5Ds”, said Lim Guan Eng today.
“Clearly (Najib) knows that Pakatan Rakyat has succeeded in putting across to the public that a BN government would lead to what I describe as the 5Ds of deficits, debts, deceits, dictatorship and brain drain of BN,” said Lim in a statement today.
The DAP secretary-general and Bagan MP (right) was responding to Najib’s promise yesterday of peace, security, stability, harmony, prosperity, upholding the constitution and progress for the country.
The seven points constitute the PM’s pledge under his catchphrase “3K Berkembar” (Twin 3Ks), according to a Bernama report.
At an event in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor, yesterday, Najib reportedly illustrated his 3K by attacking Pakatan extensively.
“Najib has attacked Pakatan for encouraging a wrong culture of breaking promises, being ungrateful and not paying our debts,” countered Lim.
“BN is the party (that is) breaking its promise to be fair to minority races, (doing so) by persecuting and hounding Bersih co-chair Ambiga Sreevenasan at her home with beef burger stalls, a butt dance by army veterans and even that she be hanged for treason against the (Agong).”
Lim said that as far as debt repayment is concerned, Najib is in no position to speak, considering that “billion of ringgit in loans taken by Umno cronies” by local banks are yet to be repaid.
“Why such special (treatment) for Umno cronies but not for the ordinary rakyat?” he asked.
He said that evidence of the 5Ds is widely available, either from the slip in Corruption Perception Index ranking from 37 last year to 60 this year, to federal debt which stands at about RM600 billion.
This he said, comes down to roughly RM21,500 for each of the 28 million citizens.
He added that Pakatan needs to convince the people to end the rule of the 5Ds, by showing that that it has successfully done so in the states it is governing.
“Pakatan’s biggest hurdle is to convince the rakyat that Pakatan can end the BN’s 5Ds. Pakatan believes that ending corruption will remove and end 5Ds,” added Lim.
