Selangor MB brushes off pro-Syabas protest
A pro-Syabas protest outside the state secretariat building in Shah Alam today was laughingly dismissed as an event engineered by the state water concessionaire or its parent company.
Members of the Perbadanan Urus Air Selangor union had demanded that the state government calls off its bid totake over Syabas, on the ground that it could affect their welfare benefits.
“I don’t know what has happened (to their benefits). They were probably paid by Syabas or Puncak Niaga to do this,” quipped Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, during a press conference this afternoon.
“However, they won’t get the same kind of entitlements as the Syabas chairperson. That’s all.”
