Tit for tat: Noh to expose Suee Lim's 'condo issue'

Selangor BN deputy chief Noh Omar has asked Sekinchan assemblyperson Ng Suee Lim to be prepared for his alleged wrongdoings to be exposed.

NONENoh made the threat at a press conference today when asked to respond to allegations that Selangor Umno's Tanjung Karang division had purchased land far below the market price.

Instead of answering the allegations, he said, "Just one thing. Tell the DAP Sekinchan representative to prepare for the condominium issue that he did in Sekinchan.
"Just wait. We will ask him," said Noh, who is also the MP for Tanjung Karang and minister of agriculture and agro-based industry.
Ng had alleged that the Umno division purchased a plot of land worth more than RM1 million for RM47,039, while another plot worth RM3.3 million was purchased at RM130,244.

However, when asked to respond, Noh dismissed the journalist’s question as a “kampung standard” question pertaining to a local issue, compared with the Malaysian International Food and Beverage Trade Fair that he had just officiated at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
'This is just a local issue, no need'
“This is just a local issue, no need (to answer). This one (the trade fair) is international level, that is a 'kampung' standard question,” Noh said.

He was also asked to respond to the accusation by the Selangor menteri besar’s political secretary, Faekah Husin, that he was promoting himself through seven illegal billboards in Tanjung Karang and Kuala Selangor.

NONEFaekah (left) said the billboards, which carried Noh’s image and that of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, were illegal and an order to demolish them had been issued.

“Not one of the billboards erected by Noh follows guidelines set by the local authority (Kuala Selangor District Council). Not only were these erected illegally, the design and other requirements did not follow regulations.

“In short, Noh has turned Tanjung Karang into a ‘cowboy town’ where everything can be done without referring to the authorities,” Faekah said in a statement on July 10.

Noh declined to answer this allegation as well, this time saying that he had already responded to the issue in the mainstream press.

However, he countered that Faekah should deal with Sealngor’s internal affairs first before criticising him.
'Even PKR supporters unhappy with her'
“Even PKR supporters are unhappy with her, so why is she disturbing other people? Settle the internal affairs first. Make sure your position is secure, then you can speak up,” he said.

NONEMalay daily Utusan Malaysia yesterday quoted Noh as saying that the billboards were erected by federal agencies such as the Fisheries Development Board Malaysia (LKIM), Tabung Ekonomi Kumpulan Usaha Niaga (Tekun) and the Malaysian Agriculture Research and Development Institute (Mardi).

“All these are federal government agencies, so of course they will display my face as a minister and that of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

“It is not for political interest, but to inform that Tanjung Karang is a major agricultural centre in the country,” the Umno-owned daily quotes Noh as saying.
In an immediate reaction, Ng challenged Noh to act on his threat.
"Well let him come up with it! I am waiting, waiting," he said, when met by Malaysiakini at the Selangor state assembly building lobby.

He declined to comment when asked what Noh was alluding to.
