An urgent meeting among the heads of Pakatan Rakyat parties will be called to discuss the recurring contradiction of views on the use of the word ‘Allah’ by non-Muslims.
Saying this at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim said this is despite the issue having been resolved before.
“This issue was resolved. We not only had a meeting but elaborated in discussions on the subject, and referred to texts, including Quranic texts.
“Now it has resurfaced, it would require an urgent meeting,” he told reporters today.

The thorny matter raised its head again when DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, in his Christmas message, called on Putrajaya to allow Christians to use the term 'Allah' in the Bahasa Malaysia version of the Bible.
DAP later clarified that the call was only for the term to be allowed for use in Sabah and Sarawak.
In response, PAS secretary general Mustafa Ali and Information Chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said that the term 'Allah' should not be used in the Bahasa Malaysia version of the Bible as the correct translation for God should be 'Tuhan'.
However, in 2010 PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said that Muslims "cannot stop others from using the word 'Allah' on their worship even though their understanding contradicts" the Muslim understanding.
