The vandalism of two Automated Enforcement System (AES) cameras in Selangor has triggered another spat between Transport Minister Kong Cho Ha and Selangor executive councillor Ronnie Liu.

“…Does Liu have insider information? Perhaps he should cooperate with police and arrest those (involved),” Kong was quoted as saying.
He was responding to Liu’s statement that the Sepang Municipal Council (MPS) and Selangor government did not master-mind the situation.
The two cameras - one camera at the 6.6km point of the South Klang Valley Expressway and the other at the 301.7km point of the KL-bound lanes of the North-South Highway - have since been cleaned up.

The state government, he warned, will consider issuing a summons to the Road Transport Department and AES contractor, should they again to fail to apply for a permit to install the cameras.
Liu had said the MPS would dismantle the two cameras on Dec 7 because the contractor had failed to obtain a development order from the state to erect the structures.
However, Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim later announced that the cameras would be covered up instead.
The contractor was then given 30 days, with effect from Dec 6, to cover the cameras.
