Al-Arqam founder's widow detained at KLIA
Police have confirmed that they detained Hatijah Aam, the widow of the founder of the outlawed Al-Arqam movement, at the KL International Airport at 11.30am today.
Sepang police chief Supt Imran Abdul Rahman said they were only assisting the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) in arresting her.
“Hatijah Aam’s arrest is not fully a police matter, we were only helping Jais,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
Hatijah Aam, who is better known as Ummu Jah, had arrived at KLIA from Jeddah when she was arrested.
She was then brought to Shah Alam for questioning by Jais.
However, it could not be ascertained why Jais wanted to question her. Jais officials could not be contacted for comment.
