Like Pak Lah was forced to make way for you, you should make way for Muhyiddin - Najib told
PAS vice president Husam Musa said prime minister Najib Razak should now make way for his deputy Muhyiddin Yassin to take over to take responsibility over BN's worst electoral performance in history.

Husam recalled how UMNO strongman Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s son Mukhriz Mahathir and several UMNO ministers had in 2008 pressured then PM Abdullah Badawi to be accountable for BN’s performance when it lost its two-third majority.

“If the idea to oust Abdullah is universal, then the same must be applied to Najib. Morally, Najib should make way for Muhyiddin to replace him as prime minister,” said Husam yesterday.

Husam said BN's loss of popular votes to Pakatan Rakyat showed that Najib's adminstration was a dismal failure.

The Kelantan state assemblyman also said Najib’s 1Malaysia concept was also a proven failure especially after the latter blamed his poor performance on a "Chinese tsunami".

“1Malaysia is Najib’s only bargaining chip. Now it too has failed, so he must step down. Muhyiddin should automatically replace him,” he added.

Husam (left) said the "Chinese Tsunami" remark by Najib was nothing more than a ploy for him to remain UMNO president.

“I strongly oppose racial politics or anti-Chinese rhetoric. I believe there will be more events coming just to keep himself (Najib) in power,” he warned.

Prior to this, Mahathir, seen as backing Muhyiddin for premiership, said he never expected Najib to do worse than Abdullah.

"Of course, the people will question his capacity and his strategies. Constitutionally [sic], he remains as the head of government as long as UMNO supports him," he added.
