RANAU CREATED POLITICAL HISTORY




RANAU : Ranau created history when its Member of Parliament and three elected representatives were all given positions in the Federal and State Cabinets.

MP Datuk Dr Ewon Ebin was appointed Federal Science, Technology and Innovation Minister while Karanaan Assemblyman, Datuk Masidi Manjun the state's Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister and Datuk Siringan Gubat (Paginatan Assemblyman), Sabah's Resource Development and Information Technology Minister.
Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam, who is Kundasang Assemblyman, was appointed the Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing.

Masidi, on behalf of the elected representatives, thanked the voters in Ranau for supporting the Barisan Nasional (BN).

"We hope that the people's support and trust will continue," he said when officiating at the Ranau level Tadau Kaamatan.

He also called on the people in the district to cooperate with the elected representatives in the development of Ranau.

"On our part, we will strive our best to ensure the development programmes will run smoothly," he said.

To this, he said that the next election is in five years and that they all should move on and work together to achieve the dream in making Ranau the number one district possible.

On Tadau Kaamatan, Masidi urged the people to celebrate it in moderation but at the same time to appreciate and to respect the Dusunic culture.

During the event, former Kundasang Assemblyman, Datuk Mynoor Gingor, was awarded the Tokoh Pesta Kaamatan Ranau.

Ritchell Andreas Michael won the Unduk Ngadau while Erlasttini Erni Bidi came second and Jocelyn Ana Yapat, third.
