The venue for Pakatan Rakyat's post-general election rally in Kuantan tonight has been moved to a PKR office in front of a polyclinic at Jalan Beserah.
Initially, the rally was supposed to be held at the Mahkota Aman field, as part of a series of rallies nationwide to protest the results of the 13th general election.
When contacted, Pahang PKR secretary Kamaruzaman Mohd Yunus said the venue was changed following advice from the police.
He revealed that the police claimed the rally does not comply with Section 9(1) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and the initial venue is a public field managed by the Kuantan district office.
"If the rally is to be continued (at the original venue), the police would take action against the organiser and participants.
"The venue has changed but the time has not changed. It will start at 9pm and finish at 12am," he said.

10-day advance notice
PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, state PKR chairperson Fauzi Abdul Rahman, PAS information chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and Pahang DAP chairperson Leong Ngah Ngah are expected to speak at the event.
Yesterday Kuantan OCPD Mohd Jasmani Yusoff said the rally is illegal as the organisers have not provided a 10-day advance notice to the police, as required under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
"I urge the people not to be influenced by the actions of several individuals. We will take stern action against those who participate," he said.
Previously, the police had also revealed that the Mahkota Aman field is owned by the state government, which has not granted permission to use the venue for the rally.

Venue change in JB
The fifth rally will be held at Johor Bahru tomorrow evening.
Like in Kuantan, the police had objected to choice of rally venue - Dataran Bandaraya and later the Sutera Mall parking lot.
Eventually, organisers settled on having the rally at a parking lot in front of Puteri Wangsa PKR branch office at Ulu Tiram.
Yesterday, Johor police chief Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said the rally organisers did not provide 10 prior notice for the event.
"Representatives of the organiser came to the police station to apply for a permit for the rally on Saturday, but they were not issued with any permit as they failed to comply with the conditions under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012," he said.
Anwar and DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang are scheduled to address the Johor Bahru event.
