A 25-year-old man believed to be a victim of sexual misadventure was found dead with a waist belt around his neck at his flats unit off Jalan Kelang Lama late Wednesday.
The man's aunt, who lived next to his unit in Block B of the Sri Lempah flats on Lorong Jugra, found the victim clad in a nightie and a blond wig in a room at his place.
The victim who worked as a part time promoter was also partially nude as his clothing was pulled up to his waist.
Brickfields police chief ACP Muhammad Azlee Abdullah said today when the victim did not turn up for work and respond to telephone calls, his two colleagues decided to check in on him at around 10pm.
He said when the friends found the main door locked they called the victim's aunt who lives next door.
Muhammad Azlee said using a spare key she had, the woman entered the house with her nephew's friends before finding him lying motionless in a room.
He said initial findings by police showed that the man had died less than 24 hours earlier.
"The TV and fan in the house were still running when his body was found. His wallet and handphone were missing.
"We believe he knew his killer.
"The post mortem report revealing the cause of his death should be ready by today" he said, adding that police are confident of tracing the culprit responsible for the death.
Investigators believe the man had died of strangulation after indulging in a sexual maneuvre that went awry.
Neighbours, including the victim's aunt, told the police that they did not hear any commotion or unusual noises coming from the house throughout the day.
The victim, who was the youngest of five siblings, lived alone in the fourth floor flats unit owned by his father.
In an unrelated case in Kajang, an 18-year-old girl who accepted a lift from a stranger was driven to a temple where she was raped by the man on Wednesday.
Sources said the teenager was walking home from her workplace in Metro Kajang when a man pulled over next to her and offered her a lift claiming he lived in the same area.
He, however, drove her to Bandar Teknologi - also in Kajang - before forcing himself on her behind a temple at around 6pm.
It is learnt that a temple devotee who had come to pray heard some noises and decided to check around the area.
The devotee managed to apprehend the suspected rapist before calling the police.
Police have remanded the suspect and are still waiting to record a statement from the victim who is traumatised by the attack but is in a stable condition at the Kajang Hospital.
