'YOU MATI MINGGU DEPAN' - Guan Eng gets Twitter DEATH THREAT

Despite receiving a "death threat" via Twitter today, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng is reluctant to go to the police.

"#DinastyLim #CEC #DAPig @cmlimguaneng cheater! You mati minggu depan (You will die next week)," reads the tweet by one using the Twitter handle @MoonYue18, which was sent at 10.18am.

Lim later retweeted the post, stating: "This is a death threat."

However, when asked if he would lodge a police report, Lim seemed hesitant.

"I have lodged many police reports but no action has been taken. I feel (there is) no difference whether I make a report or not.

"I will discuss with my lawyer to see what action I can take. I will let you know tomorrow," he said.

Lim, who is also Penang chief minister, said the tweet was related to the DAP's coming central executive committee (CEC) re-election on Sept 29.

Even so, he is certain the tweet was not sent by anyone from the party.

"This is another challenge that we would have to face," he said.

The threatening tweet also tagged a link to a seemingly pro-Umno blog Warisan Bonda, featuring an Utusan Malaysia article, dated Sept 2, relating to the DAP re-election.

In the article headlined "ROS bidas DAP tidak maklum CEC" (ROS slams DAP for not informing on CEC), Registrar of Societies director-general Abdul Rahman Othman is quoted as saying that instead of providing official information to him, the party preferred to issue announcements through the media.
