UPDATED KUALA LUMPUR - Opposition politicians expressed outrage at the crudity of Tourism Minister's "I kill you" comments to Chinese school Chin Woo, saying it was another example of ruling party Umno's culture of intimidation towards the minority groups in the country.
"It is inappropriate for a Cabinet Minister and senior politician to use such words whatever the context," Wong Chen, the MP for Kelana Jaya told Malaysia Chronicle.
"The Minister should consider this is for the greater good of the school and the school kids. This is not about ego and pride. Such comments are uncalled for . It is arrogant, a threat and reflects badly on the BN government," MP for Bayan Baru Sim Tze tzin told Malaysia Chronicle.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Nazri had minced no words warning SJK (C) Chin Woo in Pudu not to lay claim on the "government's land", "my land".
"You fight with me, I fight you, I kill you. I take back the land, don't mess around with me. It's government land, it's my land. There no law in the world to say that you (can) enclose the land, steal my land for 30 years and say is yours. You go to court," said Nazri. recalcitrant
"But if you are prepared to come and admit you've made a mistake and you are requesting use of the land and ask to lease it, okay, I wil sit and talk, say 'Yes, no problem'. See, I am very reasonable. I will say 'write to me', then say 'Yes, no problem'. See, I'm reasonable. Don't fight with me as it is my land, I'll kick you out."

But the school, which had built a basketball court on the site 30 years ago, objected. This triggered several round of threats and counter-threats between the ministry and school officials.
Oo explained he was told the Kota Warisan project had been shifted to another site in Wangsa Maju and a meeting had been held just a day ago between the representatives of the school board and various government representatives at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall headquarters.
"This is the best offer. Our land will be safe, so why not accept it? This is the best present for the Chinese community," said Oo.
Why should Chin Woo "say sorry"
"Nazri must explain why he is trying so hard, using such harsh words to demonize Chin Woo. What are his motives? What type of culture is this? How come he as the Minister in charge doesn't know that the Kota Warisan project has been shifted? If he does, why does he demand an apology or is Nazri saying that without an apology, he will block the land lease to Chin Woo," fumed a Chinese school activist, who asked not to be named.
"Let's not politicize what is a dispute over land ownership. We have no issue for Nazri to be a champion for the Malays but don't bully the Chinese or step on the other races to climb up in your party."
He was referring to news that Nazri had demand for an apology from Chin Woo.
"Come to see me, and say ‘I'm sorry, I've enclosed your land for 30 years and let cars park there’ - then I lease the land to you for 20 years. No problem.
"We are open to negotiations, I am not unreasonable," Nazri said.
