The public will be made privy to "interesting details" on the controversial National Feedlot Centre project if the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) agrees to table an investigative report in the Dewan Rakyat.
Petaling Utara MP Tony Pua said the PAC - of which he is a member - will have to first endorse the report, as it was completed by previous members of the body whose term has expired.
"The previous PAC had investigated the NFC project and the report was completed after the (2008-2013 final Dewan Rakyat) sitting had concluded. As such it was not tabled,” he explained.
"I will ask for this term's PAC to endorse the report and, if they do so, we can table it in the Dewan Rakyat.”
The project, run by a company led by the husband and children of then cabinet minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, had received a RM250 million government soft loan.

The auditor-general, in his 2011 report, highlighted weaknesses in the project.
Shahrizat resigned from her cabinet post while her husband and National Feedlot Corporation chairperson Mohamad Salleh Ismail was charged with criminal breach of trust.
BN's Pulai MP Nur Jazlan Mohamed has taken over as PAC chairperson from BN’s Padang Besar MP Azmi Khalid.
If the PAC report is not tabled in the Dewan Rakyat, it will be considered a classified document.
The previous term’s PAC also investigated the KLIA2 project cost overrun and 1Malaysia Development Bhd.
