MAS screens Tanda Putera for staff as part of 41st anniversary celebrations

National carrier Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is outlining a full month of activities with its staff in conjunction with its 41st anniversary.
Group Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said the airline is known globally for exclusivity, and is paying tribute to the thousands of MAS employees who over the years have worked together to demonstrate "Malaysian Hospitality".
"MAS is celebrating its 41st anniversary. In the world of aviation, being in business for this length of time is a milestone, a major achievement," he said in a statement yesterday.
To commemorate the celebration, the national carrier treated its staff to a special screening of Tanda Putera at the MAS Academy in Kelana Jaya.
Ahmad Jauhari said the film contains a lot of historical content which is related to the airline.
"It will bring fond memories to our senior staff and act as a motivational boost for the junior ones," he said.
The airline also presented the iCAN Lifetime Award to the MAS team that scaled the challenging Himalayas and made it to base camp on September 18.
To celebrate the anniversary, the airline will also be organising a series of staff engagement activities for one month including a Hazard Hunt where staff will be able to volunteer to audit and report on potentially harmful work environment, and a dinner session with staff.
Since operating as MAS on October 1, 1972, the airline has flown to over 100 destinations and built itself a strong brand name in the aviation industry for superior service and flight safety.
The airline holds a lengthy record of service and best practices excellence, receiving more than 100 awards in the last 10 years from international bodies such as UK-based independent research consultancy firm Skytrax. - Bernama
